CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER - Primary duty involved direct telephone support of INSCI's customer base for the COINSERV COLD product, installation of and training in hardware and software at customer sites, including network and mainframe connectivity. Developed and presented a training class for UNIX, which is still being used within the company. Developed and implemented a new work order procedure for dealing with support issues that are outside of normal customer support contracts.

DIRECTOR OF MIS - Coordinated internal MIS including the Novell (Windows) network, the UNIX network (including token ring), handled the Merlin phone system and physical network/phone connections throughout the office. Was in charge of several related projects:

  • Internet connection upgrade to a 56Kb leased line involving all aspects of reassigning IP addresses and setting up of name servers, etc.
  • Firewall construction
  • Web site construction and associated httpd work
  • Anonymous FTP setup

Bull HN Worldwide Information Systems

COMPUTER ENGINEER III - Duties included answering customer technical support questions on Bull's ImageWorks product line (imaging, workflow and COLD product), taking a leadership role in developing new client software for customers, maintaining old code, developing and giving training in various specialties, and maintaining existing systems.

COMPUTER ENGINEER II - Answered technical support questions on Bull's DPX/20 product line (IBM RS/6000) as part of defect support, maintained existing systems in a systems administrator role, developed and gave training, and wrote software. Developed a complete call management system using C and Informix. Became conversant in the SEPA development process. Was successfully audited as part of the company's ISO 9000 compliance process.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT REPRESENTATIVE - Primary duty was to answer calls from customers regarding technical support issues. Software products supported and installed included TCP/IP, NFS, Ported NetWare, DOS to UNIX connectivity products and others. System administrator for in-house systems. Wrote a complete marketing information system that takes a customer from being a lead through shipment of product using C and Informix (utilizing ESQL-C).

1993 - Co-inventor of a remote services product for Bull. Patent has been accepted in both the United States and Europe.
